Finding a Place of Rest
A spacious and healing meditation retreat in beautiful nature close to the sea in Helgenæs, East Jutland, Denmark.

You will be introduced to simple methods to be more at ease with your feelings and disturbing thoughts. We are exploring ways to be more relaxed with the challenges of stress, fear, sadness, and insecurity. The emphasis is on how to bring that compassionate space into our daily life and our relationships.
The retreat is suitable for beginners of any background who want to start their journey with profound and easy to apply techniques and experienced students who want to deepen their practice.
The journey will be a balanced mixture of guided meditations, walking meditation, short lectures, discussions, silence and mindful movements.
You will learn time-honored ways of experiencing and resting right now in your natural state of inner peace, the ultimate source of lasting happiness.
All teachings are in English.
Silence: Most of the retreat will be in silence, there will be opportunities to ask questions during the sessions. We also encourage everyone to keep their mobile phones turned off during the entire retreat.
About Stephan Pende Wormland:
Born 1965 in Germany, MA in clinical psychology and trained in Gestalt therapy. He has studied and practiced meditation in multiple Buddhist traditions for over 35 years and has spent all together five years in meditation retreats. He is a student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and was a monk in the Tibetan tradition for 11 years.
Cost: The retreat is profit-free.
Accommodation, food, costs for the organization:
3750 Dkr. for a single room, 3450 Dkr. for a double room.
3250 Dkr. for a bed in the dormitory (separate women and men). Here you need to bring your own duvet/sleeping bag and pillow. It is possible to bring your own tent.
There are only 8 double rooms and 8 single rooms available, so please book early to secure your place. If the double and single rooms are filled it is possible to sleep in the dormitory.
Donation to the teacher, to be paid in cash or MobilePay during the retreat: We suggest 900 Dkr. – 1600 Dkr.

To bring: Sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels, toiletries, etc. It is possible to rent sheets, covers and a towel for 75 Dkr. Please remember to write this when you register for the retreat.
Meditation cushions and stools are available, bring your own if you have particular wishes about what you want to sit on.
The food is vegetarian, it is not possible to accommodate special needs regarding your diet. You can bring supplements to your diet.
Remember warm clothes, outdoor shoes for a walk, easy shoes to use between the main house, temple hall and the dining hall and slippers for indoor use, if you like.
Arrival: It is possible to arrive at Gomde Retreat Center after 16 o’clock (4 pm) on Wednesday the 4th of August 2021. This allows time to settle in and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings before the first teaching session, which will take place after supper Wednesday evening.
Departure: The retreat will end at about 14 o’clock on Sunday the 8th of August 2021.
Requirements: Participating in retreats can be challenging. Participants are asked to be firmly grounded and have the ability to take personal responsibility. One should have a fairly stable mental balance and participants attending should be able to take personal responsibility for their own experiences.
The retreat is not designed as a substitute for psychotherapeutic work. It is the responsibility of each participant to judge for themselves their suitability to participate. If you are seeing a psychotherapist, psychiatrist, or other mental health professionals, we ask that you speak with them about your intentions to join a retreat.
