SUMMARY:10-Day Christmas & New Year Vipassana Retreat
DESCRIPTION:10-Day Vipassana Retreat During Christmas & New Year\n\n\n\n23 December 2026 – 2 January 2027Gudhjem\, Bornholm \n\n\n\nSpend Christmas and New Year immersed in noble silence amid the beautiful natural surroundings of Bornholm—hopefully embraced by blue skies and sparkling snow\, creating a true winter wonderland. \n\n\n\nInstead of the busyness of the holiday season\, join like-minded souls in stillness\, simplicity\, and deep inner work. \n\n\n\nWe begin by calming and concentrating the mind through awareness of the breath. From the fourth day onwards\, we gently transition into the practice of Vipassana. \n\n\n\nLet go of the old\, purify the mind\, and welcome the New Year with clarity\, peace\, and an open heart. \n\n\n\nA beautiful way to end one year—and begin the next. \n\n\n\nThe Practice\n\n\n\nVipassana allows us to meet everything we have pushed aside\, stored up\, or reacted to—triggers\, physical pain\, difficult emotions\, restless thinking\, and life’s challenges. \n\n\n\nRather than suppressing or escaping our experience\, we learn to observe it with equanimity. \n\n\n\nAs awareness deepens\, the mind gradually becomes less reactive. Old conditioning begins to dissolve\, and we discover an inner stillness untouched by changing thoughts\, emotions\, and sensations. \n\n\n\nThroughout the retreat\, we cultivate concentration through awareness of the breath and develop equanimity by observing bodily sensations with balance and acceptance. \n\n\n\nIs This Retreat for You?\n\n\n\nA silent retreat is an invitation to turn inward—to feel your feelings rather than projecting them or talking them away. \n\n\n\nUpon arrival\, we collect all phones. This frees you from temptation and helps everyone remain fully present. If you need to remain reachable for someone close to you\, we can provide an emergency contact number. \n\n\n\nPlease only join if you can commit to the complete schedule. The mind may create excuses: I need to rest\, walk\, or stop sitting. This reactivity is part of the practice. \n\n\n\nThrough Noble Silence and Strong Determination: \n\n\n\nWe are where we are.We do what we do.We are with what is. \n\n\n\nInstead of walking in the mind\, we experience what is here: our feet touching the earth\, the feeling of stone and snow\, and even the discomfort of remaining silent where we would normally speak. \n\n\n\nRetreat can intensify emotions. Feeling overwhelmed is not a failure—the practice may be reaching something important. \n\n\n\nWe support you through teacher interviews and individual check-ins\, helping you integrate what arises and answering your questions. \n\n\n\nYour Teachers\n\n\n\nKristina and Stephan have guided meditation retreats together for many years. \n\n\n\nDrawing on decades of dedicated practice\, they support participants in navigating samsara’s changing landscape with compassion\, presence\, and wisdom. \n\n\n\nAgain and again\, participants discover that physical pain softens\, emotional storms pass\, compulsive thinking loses its grip\, and even the most intense experiences transform when met with steady awareness and equanimity. \n\n\n\nThe methods we teach are the methods we live. \n\n\n\nIncluded\n\n\n\n\n\n10 days of guided Vipassana practice\n\n\n\nNoble silence\n\n\n\nDaily meditation instruction\n\n\n\nVegetarian meals\n\n\n\nAccommodation in comfortable shared double rooms with separate beds\n\n\n\nOngoing teacher support\n\n\n\nA maximum of 10 participants\, ensuring a personal and intimate retreat experience\n\n\n\n\n\nDates\n\n\n\nArrival: 23 December 2026\, between 16:00 and 18:00Departure: 2 January 2027 at 10:00 \n\n\n\nLocation and how to get there\n\n\n\nGamlevældevej 32 \, 3760 Gudhjem\, Bornholm \n\n\n\nArrival – 23 December \n\n\n\nYou can fly directly from Copenhagen to Bornholm. \n\n\n\nA cheaper option is to take the KOMBARDO EXPRESSEN bus and ferry from Copenhagen or Copenhagen Airport to Rønne. \n\n\n\nWe can pick you up at around 3:00 pm from either Rønne Ferry Terminal or Bornholm Airport. \n\n\n\nAlternatively\, you can take a taxi\, Uber\, or bus to: \n\n\n\nGamlevældevej 32\, 3760 Gudhjem \n\n\n\nCheck-in is between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. \n\n\n\nDeparture – 2 January \n\n\n\nThe retreat ends at 10:00 am. SUMMARY:Assisi Easter Retreat
DESCRIPTION:THE BLOSSOMING HEART OF ASSISI 🌾An Easter Retreat in Sacred Silence\, Devotion and Renewal \n\n\n\nAssisi breathes devotion. From dawn until night\, monks and nuns chant\, walk and pray in a rhythm that is centuries old. During this retreat\, we attune ourselves to this sacred rhythm—and to the tender awakening of spring. The hills turn green\, wildflowers emerge\, birdsong fills the morning air\, and the soft spring light touches the ancient stones of Assisi. \n\n\n\nThrough silence\, meditation\, heart-based practices\, singing and mindful movement\, we open ourselves to the blossoming that is also taking place within us.Saint Francis and Saint Clare devoted their lives to serving from the heart—to brotherhood and sisterhood\, silence\, prayer\, music\, nature\, animals\, humility\, simplicity\, faith\, purity and care for those most in need. \n\n\n\nWe have walked in their footsteps and have been drawn back to the energy of Assisi again and again. This invitation comes from the deepest corner of our hearts. \n\n\n\nThe purpose of this spring retreat is to experience the Blossoming Heart—the peace\, love and aliveness that are always available when we slow down and become present. We rediscover what nourishes us: the warmth of the sun\, the food we receive\, the air we breathe\, the earth beneath our feet\, the awakening of nature and the feeling of our own hearts singing. \n\n\n\n🌿 Our Retreat HomeOur retreat home is located on the quiet side of Assisi in Santa Croce—peaceful and secluded from tourism\, yet within walking distance of the Basilica of Saint Francis.https://www.casalesantamargherita.com/en/ \n\n\n\n🌙 Tentative Daily Rhythm 🌾Our mornings begin with a silent sunrise walk from our retreat home to the tomb of Saint Francis inside the Basilica. In spring\, Assisi awakens around us. The morning air is fresh\, the first light touches the valley\, and birds sing as we walk. \n\n\n\nThe silence inside the Basilica is thick—like velvet.People sit. Walk slowly. Pray. Cry. The air is filled with prayer\, music and the quiet presence of something far greater than ourselves. It feels as though Francis never left. \n\n\n\nAfterwards\, we walk back together\, slowly and in silence. At our retreat home\, the daily rhythm may include: \n\n\n\n\n\nFive to six hours of meditation\n\n\n\nSinging and sacred music\n\n\n\nMindful movement\n\n\n\nHeart-based practices\n\n\n\nForgiveness practice\n\n\n\nListening to sacred chants in the churches\n\n\n\nEntering into the lives and spirits of Saint Francis and Saint Clare\n\n\n\nTime in silence and spring natureIt is a simple and gentle rhythm of presence\, devotion and inner blossoming. We will most likely be blessed by a musician who can support us in singing songs connected to Francis and Clare.Presence and care will be felt in every meal.\n\n\n\n🌸 Retreat Details\n\n\n\nLimited to 12 participants\n\n\n\nDates: 23–29 March 2027\n\n\n\nArrival: 23 March between 16:00 and 18:00\n\n\n\nOpening dinner and welcome circle: 18:30\n\n\n\nDeparture: 29 March at 10:00\n\n\n\nContribution: €1\,200\n\n\n\nRetreat\, accommodation and all meals are included\n\n\n\nTransportation is not included\n\n\n\nAddress: Strada Comunale Santa Croce 7\, 06081 Assisi\, Umbria\, Italy\n\n\n\n🍀 Is This for You?A retreat is an invitation to turn inward—to feel your feelings rather than projecting them outward or talking them away. This is a silent meditation retreat. It is a time to experience the preciousness of being together in silence—even as we walk to churches\, share meals and move through the day.We are where we are.We do what we do.We are with what is.Instead of going for a walk in the mind\, we open ourselves to the direct experience of life:The soles of our feet touching the earth. The fragrance of spring flowers and pine trees. The warmth of the sun.The sounds of birds and church bells.\n\n\n\nEven the uncomfortable feeling of not speaking when we normally would.Slowly\, we begin to fall in love with silence. Some people believe that silence is lonely or unloving because we are not expressing ourselves through words. Yet so much can be expressed—and deeply held—in silence.Try something new.Become freer and less reactive within the spaciousness of silence. Become an instrument of peace through the way you walk—one conscious step at a time.\n\n\n\n\n\n🔥 Meet us around the sacred fire in the hearts of Francis and Clare. \n\n\n\nAbout Kristina & Stephan \n\n\n\nKristina and Stephan are longtime spiritual companions\, retreat leaders and teachers rooted in meditation and psychotherapy. Together\, they create sacred spaces for silence\, healing and awakening. \n\n\n\nKristina brings her deep experience as a psychotherapist\, Vipassana and healer. Her work is infused with devotion\, nature and animal connection and the healing power of presence. \n\n\n\nStephan\, a former Tibetan monk with over 40 years of meditation experience\, weaves Buddhist insight and nondual teachings into accessible\, heartfelt guidance. \n\n\n\nTheir retreats are known for their depth\, gentleness\, and authenticity — offering a space to come home to yourself\, again and again. \n\n\n\nRegistration and Payment \n\n\n\nYou register through payment. Payment is made securely with credit or debit card by buying a ticket below. If you prefer another payment method go here and write to me once you have paid (stephanpendegmail.com).
