Meditation and Yoga are invitations to slow down and shift from the Doing to the Being mode. Allow yourself to be in a place without pressure supported by the guidance of the course leaders and the presence of the group. You will learn time-honored ways of experiencing and resting right now in your natural state of inner peace, the ultimate source of lasting happiness.
You will be introduced to simple methods to be more at ease with your feelings and disturbing thoughts. We are exploring ways to be more relaxed with the challenges of stress, fear, sadness, and insecurity. The emphasis is on how to bring that compassionate space into our daily life and our relationships. There will be periods of shared silence, dialogs and daily yin yoga practice to release tensions in the body.
The retreat is a silent retreat and the schedule consists of sitting and walking meditation as well as teaching with Stephan and soft yin yoga with Ulrika.
In addition to this, there will be time for your own walks and rest. Karmayoga in terms of helping with food, dishes are also included. You don’t need to have any previous meditation or yoga experience to participate. All teachings will be in English.
Tåkerns hostel and café are located in beautiful surroundings by the Lake Tåkern between Ödeshög and Vadstena. A sauna with a view of the lake is available.
Participation fee including food, lodging, and teaching: 4 400 skr.
(4000 skr for retired, students or unemployed)
Vegetarian food and the accommodation is in 2-4 bedrooms.
A few single rooms can be arranged at an additional cost.

Stephan Pende Wormland, MA in clinical psychology, is trained in Gestalt therapy. He has studied and practiced meditation in multiple Buddhist traditions for over 30 years and spent 5 years in meditation retreats. Stephan was a monk in the Tibetan tradition for 11 years and teaches meditation in Buddhist centers in Europe.
Ulrika Säljeby, certified yoga alliance yoga teacher in Hatha- and yin yoga. Ulrika is running the yoga studio Yogaro in Vadstena since 2013. She has been practicing yoga and meditation since 1995.
